The Infamous Mad Linx has been making noise on the radio since 1994. Believing that you should always strive to become better, Linx has never stopped his quest to be the best.

The Infamous Mad Linx’s radio career began at WMNF community radio. From there Linx expanded his radio presence to WTMP in 1997. In 1998, he graduated to Mixshow director. In 2002, Mad Linx became the afternoon drive jock for WTMP Hot 96.1 FM. Be assured that this is not the final stop on what will ultimately be a very successful career.

Mad Linx loves to rock a party, and he has done it around the globe. Never wanting to be just a “hot local DJ,” Linx turned his attention to the world, embarking on several European tours throughout his career.

Always looking to expand on his talent, Mad Linx had a stellar year in 2002. Mad Linx became “The Official EA Sports DJ.” Not willing to stop there, Linx became national recording artist Angie Martinez’s Tour DJ. In 2003, Mad Linx became “The Official Adidas Basketball DJ” and joined Tampa’s #1 Radio Station, WLLD Wild 98.7 FM. “I’m finally at home at a place that will showcase my talents, and that will enable me to grow more than ever.”

Now, Mad Linx has ventured onto the next phase of his career. 2004 has been the year that Linx has not only been heard, but seen as well. Black Entertainment Television has taken notice of Linx’s strong personality and on-screen presence. This year has already been a big one for Mad Linx on national television including the following: featured DJ on BET’s Rap City for 2 more episodes, Spring Bling concert events DJ, an episode of Access Granted, and in a major move, BET has chosen Linx to guest host…yes, HOST, several episodes of the popular show Rap City.

Business:

Started Tactics & Methods in 1998. The company’s divisions include: marketing and promotions, record pool, consulting and DJ services. “If you have no Tactics & Methods in life, you will never be successful.”

What It’s About:

“Being a DJ is a privilege that should never be taken for granted. We are messengers of the music. My mission is to take it back to the essence, where the DJ was the most prominent part of the Hip Hop puzzle. It was the DJ, not radio, not corporate figures far removed from the culture, it was the DJ that broke the music and we made everyone crossover to us. I’m here to keep it that way.”

DJ Kucklez

DJ Knucklez

With over 6 years in the hip hop scene, DJ Knucklez, has proven his worth in gold. Knucklez started out doing promotions for international known record labels such as Bad Boy, Universal, and Def Jam to artists such as Wu-Tang Clan, Nelly, & Shyne. This lead to DJing all over the country, sponsored by companies like Motorola, New Line Cinema and EA Sports, in which he DJed the 2001 Madden Bowl in his hometown of Tampa, FL.

Knucklez grew up in the streets of Taegu, South Korea in the early eighties, where he was introduced to hip hop through mix tapes sold by street vendors. After his family moved to the United States in 1991, Knucklez became obsessed with the hip hop scene. He was influenced by such hip hop heavyweights as Q Bert, Terminator X, Jazzy Jeff, and Rob Swift, to name a few.

Knucklez started out as a battle DJ, making mix tapes and quickly gained exposure in the local Tampa clubs and radio stations as a guest mixer. He then joined the Tactics & Methods Record Pool, staying on top of the game with all the freshest wax for his mix tapes. You can catch DJ Knucklez currently at local clubs in the Tampa Bay area, and providing cuts and scratches for artist’s albums.

DJ Silent Rage

DJ SILENT RAGE

DJ Silent Rage (aka S.R.) hails from the cradle of hip-hop, Bronx, NY. Which alone should give him a leg up on the competition in Tampa. Add his current position as the director of the Tactics and Methods Record Pool, a spot on the University of South Florida’s WBUL (1620 AM) and street promotions gigs with Universal, EA Sports, and Bad Boy, and you have the deejay equivalent of a triple double.

Inspired by his father, a deejay and musician, Rage already had the love for the turntables when he moved to Tampa, FL. But he didn’t consider it more than a sometime hobby until his junior year in high school in 1996 releasing instrumental tapes for local artistes. By 2000, it had become a viable career option, landing him stints at area clubs like, Rain, Faze II, Club Skye, Platforms, Twilight and many more. That was the year he met Mad Linx, and formed the Shut it Down Squad (Linx, DJ Ritz, S.R., DJ Knucklez and DJ Fiya). He has since released a series of mixtapes hosted by artists like Slip-n-Slide’s Deuce Poppi, Killer Mike, Nappy Roots, Obie Trice and Boot Camp Click to name a few. He also deejayed for superstar comic Dave Chappelle during a show at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in 2003. You can often hear him at various bay area night clubs also on the Hip-Hop Takeover show at WBUL 1620 AM, which airs on Mondays from 6-8 pm.

Right now, my first priority is to get better at my craft, as well as the business of deejaying, he said. Hip-hop has come a long way since the beginning, and it isn’t just for the inner city anymore. It’s a business entity now, and you have to be prepared. And I fully intend to be.
